Steinhaus commits to the University of Minnesota

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg wrestler Kevin Steinhaus has verbally committed to wrestle for the University of Minnesota following his upcoming senior season.

Steinhaus is a two-time state champion, a three-time finalist, and a four-time placewinner. He won the 152-pound Class A title this year and the 145-pound title as a sophomore. Kevin also placed third at 130 pounds as a freshman and second at 112 pounds as an eighth-grader.

He has not lost a high school match since his freshman season. His current career record is 196-12 (94.2 win %) and his GPA is 3.92.

Nationally, Kevin was a 2008 NHSCA Junior National Championships runner-up.

His parents are Mike and Suzanne and his coach is Wes Haglund.
