Jim Gibbons, former Iowa State head wrestling coach and current
wrestling commentator, will be the featured Wrestling 411 Radio guest
this Wednesday, May 6 at 10 a.m.
During the spring and summer months, Wrestling 411 Radio will
broadcast live shows on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 10
a.m. CDT. Each show will include a featured guest and brief commentary
on the recent happenings in wrestling.
This Wednesday’s edition of Wrestling 411 Radio will air at 10 a.m.
CDT. The show can be heard live by visiting www.wrestling411.tv and
clicking on the “Listen Live” link. An archive of the broadcast will be
available immediately following the show.
Gibbons was the head wrestling coach for Iowa State from 1985 through
1992. In 1987 he led the Cyclones to its most recent NCAA wrestling
title. He also won an individual NCAA title for Iowa State in 1981 at
134 pounds.
He also serves as a television commentator, providing color commentary
for ESPN, The Big Ten Network, and Iowa Public Television. In 2003 he
was named broadcaster of the year by the National Wrestling Media
Association.
