MILWAUKEE – Ryan Timmerman won his first three matches by fall before a 4-2 victory in the 141-pound championship bout as he led St. Olaf to a third place finish at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational on Saturday.

Timmerman’s title match win came against second-seeded Greg Sanders of Concordia University-Wis.

At 157, St. Olaf junior Jacob Bohler finished third. The second-seeded Bohler lost in the semifinals, but rallied with back-to-back major decisions to finish third.

St. Olaf had another third place finish as James Roach, the top seed at 174, overcame a first round loss to win five in a row in the consolation bracket to finish the event 5-1.

The team’s other third place effort came from Joe Schleter, who lost in the semifinals. Schleter then picked up 9-7 and 6-4 victories in the consolation bracket.

At 184, Andrew Rudd placed fourth. Fudd picked up a decision and pin in his first two before losing a 5-3 decision in the semifinals.

The Oles’ Ian Peppel finished fifth at 133, earning three pins in the loser’s bracket.
