No. 5 Augustana prevails at Concordia College

MOORHEAD, Minn. – No. 5 Augustana wrapped up the non-conference portion of its dual schedule by beating Concordia (Moorhead) 22-18 Sunday afternoon on the road.

Augustana improves to 8-1, while CC, which is ranked 15th in Division III, drops to 4-6.

The win was the Vikings’ fourth-straight dual triumph.

Augustana won sits bouts–including the first four–in its final tune up before the NSIC campaign.

The Cobbers left 125 pounds open, and Jason Jeremiason, Chism Fink and Nate Herda all rattled off victories to follow.

Jeremiason earned a 3-0 win by decision over Daron Hohbein at 133 pounds, Fink beat Michael Holman 13-3 (major decision) at 141 pounds and Herda collected a 7-4 win by decision over Kyle LeDuc at 149 pounds.

The Vikings led 16-0 after the surge.

CC registered a pair of victories by fall in the ensuing tilts as Jacob Long pinned Marcus Edgington at 157 pounds and Josten Coleman got Parker Swanson at 165 pounds.

Carl Serck (174) and Jayd Docken (184) responded with wins by decision over Sebastian Gardner and Christian Harrison, respectively.

Sean Derry (184) and Mike Roberts (285) fell in the final two bouts for Augustana.

The Vikings begin NSIC competition on Friday, hosting U-Mary at 7 p.m.
