Nick Wanzek (Simley, Minn.), a two-time state champion, Junior National folkstyle state champion, and Cadet National folkstyle champion, has given a verbal commitment to the University of Minnesota. He is ranked as the nation’s No. 33 overall senior recruit.
“Minnesota could offer me everything,” said Wanzek, who also considered Cornell, North Dakota State, and Stanford. “It’s a top-notch program in wrestling. It’s a great academic school.
