Rudd pin propels Oles past Central
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Andrew Rudd’s pin at 5:33 of his match at 184 helped St. Olaf defeat Central College 22-20 on Friday night at Skoglund Center.
Rudd’s victory over Central’s Nate Fell came with the Oles trailing 17-16 in the second to last match of the night.
Central’s Theron Stewart needed an overtime period to defeat the Oles’ Joe Schlueter 7-5 at 197, but the decision was enough to secure the team win for St. Olaf.
The Oles’ other wins came from Ian Peppel at 133, Ryan Timmerman at 141 and Joey Waples at 174.
St. Olaf hosts Rochester Community and Technical College on Tuesday.
