Kingsley gives verbal commitment to the University of Minnesota

Three-time state champion Brandon Kingsley of Apple Valley has given a verbal commitment to attend the University of Minnesota and wrestle for the Gophers following his upcoming senior season.

Kingsley is a three-time state champion. He won the 140-pound Class AAA state championship this season as a junior. He won the 135-pound title as a sophomore and the 125 pound title as a freshman. He helped Apple Valley win state championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Kingsley currently has a 170-6 record with 127 pins. He is ranked as the 11th overall junior recruit in the nation by InterMat.

Brandon’s brother Jordan is a recruit for the Gophers as well. He will be a freshman next season.

Kingsley’s parents are Sheila and Roger and his coach is Jim Jackson.
