SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana kept its No. 6 spot in the Division II wrestling rankings and is No. 3 in Super Region Three and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in polls released this week.

The Vikings collected 114 points in the national poll conducted by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association. Augustana was also No. 6 in the preseason rankings. Newberry (S.C.) was ranked first, Upper Iowa second and St. Cloud State third.
Augustana’s 40 points put it in the No. 3 slot in the Super Region Three rankings. UIU and SCSU fell in ahead of the Vikings.
The Vikings were also third in the NSIC rankings after racking up 50 points. UIU and SCSU were No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
All three rankings included a host of highly ranked Augustana individuals.
Nate Herda is ranked No. 1 in the country, region and conference at 149 pounds.
Jason Jeremiason, a 133-pounder, checked in at No. 2 in the nation, region and conference.
Marcus Edgington is No. 6 in the nation, No. 2 in the region and No. 1 in the NSIC at 157 pounds
At 174 pounds, Carl Serck is eighth in the country and third regionally and in the conference.
TJ North (125) is fifth in Super Region Three and fourth in the NSIC, Chism Fink (141) is second in the region and conference and Tom Davies (165) was slotted seventh in the region and sixth in the conference. Jayd Docken (184) is ranked fifth in Super Region Three and fourth in the NSIC, Brian Schultz (197) is No. 4 in the region and No. 3 in the conference and Mike Roberts (285) is fifth in both the region and conference.
Augustana (0-0) opens the dual season at home on Friday in a triangular with Dakota Wesleyan (1-3) and Northwestern (Iowa) (3-1). Augustana and DWU will wrestle at 5 p.m., DWU and NC at 6:30 p.m. and Augustana and NC at 8 p.m.
