SDSU drops home dual to Nebraska
The South Dakota State wrestling team dropped its endowment dual to Big Ten opponent No. 16 Nebraska, 37-3, on Saturday night in Brookings…
Aaron Pickrel earned the lone win for the Jacks with a 13-7 decision at 125 pounds. Pickrel improved to 12-3 overall (5-1 duals) with the victory. In his 12 wins this season, nine have been by decision.
Matches were close at the lower weights, where SDSU has exceled this season, but the Jacks were unable to pull out another match.
Dustin Walraven, the Jackrabbit profiled in tonight’s dual, wrestled a close match the entire way, but was unable to close the narrow gap. It was his first dual loss of the season.
Andrew Youngblom also kept his match tight, but dropped a 9-2 decision.
