The Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association awarded six $1,500 scholarships this season. Any senior who has wrestled in high school in Minnesota and is college-bound was eligible to apply.
Here are this season’s MWCA scholarship recipients.
Chase Austvold is a member of the New London-Spicer Wildcats wrestling team. He is the son of Jon and Sherri Austvold and is coached by Jair Toedter. Chase plans on attending Concordia College in Moorhead.
Bernard Floeder attends Mounds View High School and wrestles for coach Dan Engebretson. He is the son of Steve and Chaney Floeder. Bernard will attend Notre Dame next year.
Adam Hammer, the son of Steve and Carol Hammer, is a member of the Osseo wrestling team. He is coached by Adam Wiley. Adam plans to attend college at either South Dakota State, the University of Minnesota, or Concordia College in Moorhead.
Michael Kroells is a senior on the Scott West wrestling team. He is the son of Larry and Lori Kroells and is coached by Jerold Stauffacher and Darren Ripley. Michael will attend the University of Minnesota.
Curt Maas attends high school in Medford. He is the son of Daniel and Stacy Maas and is coached by Dennis Whitman. Curt plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa.
Brett Pfarr is a member of the Le Sueur-Henderson wrestling team and is coached by Scott Wilson.He is the son of David and Robin Pfarr. Brett will attend the University of Minnesota.
