Augustana makes no movement in polls this week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana is ranked No. 5 in the country, No. 3 in Super Region Three and No. 2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, according to polls released this week.

Augustana made no movement from last week in any of the polls.


The Vikings received 122 points in the national rankings conducted by the Division II Wrestling Coaching Association.

St. Cloud State is the top-ranked team in the country, region and conference.

Augustana garnered 36 points in the Super Region Three rankings and 49 points in the NSIC rankings.

Nate Herda continues to be the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the nation, region and conference at 149 pounds.

Chism Fink is third nationally and second in Super Region Three and the NSIC at 141 pounds.

At 157 pounds, Marcus Edgington is No. 3 in the nation, second in the region and first in the confernece.

Jason Jeremiason, 133 pounds, is ranked fourth in the country and third in the region and NSIC.

Carl Serck is fourth in the nation, third in the region and second in the conference at 174 pounds.

Other Vikings who made appearances included Cody Lensing (125, No. 6 region/No. 5 NSIC), Matt Morris (165, No. 7 region/No. 5 NSIC), Jayd Docken (184, No. 3 region/No. 2 NSIC), Sean Derry (197, No. 6 region/No. 4 NSIC) and Taylor Harris (285, No. 11 region/No. 8 NSIC).

Augustana begins postseason competition at the Super Regional Three Championship Sunday in St. Cloud, Minn. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
