EDMOND, Okla. – Augustana fell one spot to sixth in the final national poll released this week by the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association.
The Vikings earned 127 points.
St. Cloud State garnered all eight first-place votes and 160 points to keep its top spot in the rankings.
Four Vikings, all of whom have qualified for the NCAA Championship, are individually ranked.
Nate Herda continues to be the top-ranked wrestler at 149 pounds. He collected a title on Sunday at the Super Region Three Championship in St. Cloud, Minn.
Jason Jeremiason, 133 pounds, is ranked second. He finished second at Sunday’s regional.
Chism Fink is ranked No. 3 at 141 pounds. He placed second at the region tournament.
At 174 pounds, Carl Serck is ranked fourth. He was a third-place finisher at the region tournament.
Other wrestlers who have qualified for the NCAA Championship include Cody Lensing (125), Jayd Docken (184) and Sean Derry (197).
The NCAA Championship is March 9 and 10 in Pueblo, Colo.
