Mavericks’ Demo and Quinn Each Take 7th at NCAA Championship

Pueblo, Colo. — David Demo and Cody Quinn both went 1-1 on day two of the NCAA Championship en route to seventh place finishes and All-American honors at the NCAA Championships hosted by Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Demo earned his 28th victory of the season by defeating Garrett Evans (OBU) 6-2 in the decisive 125-lb seventh place match. Demo fell to Kenny Trumbetta (Seton Hill) 7-5 in the consolation round prior to defeating Evans. Demo finishes the championship 3-2 and earned eight team points for MSU.

Quinn also finished the championship 3-2 and in seventh place after defeating Chester Granard (CMU) in a highly-competitive 3-2 decision. The Convington, Wash. native fell to Matt Vandermeer 6-2 in his opening match in day two. Quinn finishes with a 23-10 record. Quinn’s 1-1 effort on day-two solidifies the freshman as an All-American and earned seven team points for MSU.

The Mavericks finished the championship with 15 points.
