SMSU’s Reinsma moves on to third round of wrestlebacks

PUEBLO, Colo. – Southwest Minnesota State sophomore wrestler Justin Reinsma stayed alive in the NCAA II Championships on Friday in Pueblo, Colo. After losing his opening round bout, Reinsma picked up a pin and a decision to move into the third round of the wrestlebacks on Saturday.

In the opening round, Reinsma dropped a 6-0 decision to Ryan Fillingame of Adams State. The sophomore bounced back with a pin over Stephen Pastor (Tiffin University) at 2:28.

Reinsma guaranteed himself a top-eight finish, and All-America honors, with a 6-3 decision over Dustin Reed (Central Oklahoma).

The NCAA Championships will continue tomorrow morning with the third session getting underway at 10 a.m. MT at Massari Arena on the campus of Colorado State-Pueblo. Reinsma is set to take on Michael Magaha of Limestone College (N.C.).
