Gopher backup heavyweight Jake Kettler has decided to transfer to George Mason University and wrestle for former Gopher Coach Joe Russell. After taking a redshirt year in 2010 and an Olympic redshirt year in 2012 he has three years of Division I eligibility remaining.
Kettler is currently one of the top 120 kg/264.5 lbs Greco-Roman wrestlers in the country. In 2009 he was a USA Wrestling Junior Nationals freestyle runner-up.
Kettler won the 2009 Minnesota State Class AAA heavyweight title for Anoka. He placed third at heavyweight as a junior.
