A second-place finish at a national wrestling meet in March gave unprecedented exposure to Caledonia High School senior Austin Goergen.
The two-time MSHSL Class AA state champion and one-time runner-up, Goergen said he received contact from 20 or 30 schools after competing at that tournament in Virginia Beach, Va.
But even though some impressive programs — Oklahoma State and Oregon among them — contacted Goergen about wrestling for them after graduation, he never lost track of a goal he’s had for quite some time. Continue reading at winonadailynews.com
