Ridgewater is NJCAA Academic Wrestling Team of the Year

Ridgewater has been recognized as the 2011-2012 Academic Wrestling Team of the Year by the NJCAA.

“I don’t believe a sport on campus has ever received this recognition,” stated Ridgewater Coach Tom Beyer. “I think it makes a statement about type of student athletes we have.”

The award is based on all athletes who completed the season and their cumulative GPA after one year for freshmen and two years for sophomores.

450 teams in all sports qualified for academic team accolades. Nearly 60,000 student-athletes competed in the NJCAA for the 2011-2012 academic year on 3,500+ teams in 28 different sports.
