Talented newcomers bring Minnesota’s recruit total to eleven
Minnesota head wrestling coach J Robinson has announced the addition of five student-athletes to an already impressive recruiting class. Jordan Bremer, Riley Prentice, Conrad Rangell, Dylan Reel, and Zane Zeman committed to the Gophers during the late signing period.
Bremer comes to Minneapolis from Moville, Iowa where he was a four-time state qualifier. He is reported to compete in the 125-pound weight class.
Prentice, a Tumwater, Wash., native, collected 131 career victories in high school, including a dominant 32 during his senior season at 160 lbs.
Rangell (Clovis, Calif.) transfers to Minnesota from Fresno City College where he wrestled as part of the 149-pound weight class.
A Washington, Ill. native, Reel is reported as a 160-pound competitor. Reel is a four-time Journal Star Wrestler of the Year for his high school campaign.
Zeman comes from Avon, Ohio where he wrestled at 145 lbs. and recorded a 45-4 success rate as a senior in the school’s newly-minted Division I status.
These five newcomers will join Samuel Brancale, Jarod Donar, Brandon Kingsley, Brett Pfarr, Cody Phillips, and Michael Kroells to make up Minnesota’s 2012 recruiting class. The Gophers begin their season on Nov. 9 when they host Hofstra in an evening dual at the Sports Pavilion.
