MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team makes its 2012-13 home debut on Friday when it hosts Dickinson State in a dual at 3 p.m. at Alex Nemzek Hall.
Following Friday’s dual, MSUM will send wrestlers to the Finn Grinaker Open hosted by Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday. This weekend’s action will be the Dragons’ final before the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Dragons lost to Dickinson State 28-16 a year ago in Dickinson, N.D., but recorded a 22-13 win on Feb. 14, 2011.
Friday’s match is the first dual meet of the season for both teams. Dickinson State wrestled at the Dakota Wesleyan Open on Nov. 10.

MSUM opened the season on Nov. 10 at the Bison Open. Sophomore Gerad Fugleberg placed fifth at heavyweight. After opening with a bye and falling to Anthony Nelson of Minnesota, Fugelberg rebounded with a pin of Mike Dyer of Concordia in 2:19, and followed with a 9-2 win over SMSU’s Todd Klemz. He fell to Minnesota’s Michael Kroells before rebounding with a 9-2 win over NDSU’s John Gusewelle in the fifth-place match to finish 3-2 on the day.
Sophomore Phillipe Walker finished sixth at 133 pounds. He lost his first match but came back with a 15-0 tech fall win over Minot State’s Matt Ruby. After moving on by injury default, Walker fell to Minnesota’s Randy Hanson 7-4 and fell 3-2 in the fifth-place match.
Senior Kerron Williams won his first match at 165, beating Race Heitkamp of Concordia, 7-4. He dropped his next match before topping Dylan Hanson of Concordia, 7-4. Willams fell to Mary’s Collin Engelhardt to finish the day 2-2.

After this weekend, MSUM hosts Jamestown College in a dual on Nov. 28.
