Rochester CTC at North Iowa Area Duals

Rochester Community and Technical College Wrestling Program went 4-2 in three days of dual wrestling. RCTC finished up today wrestling at North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City. The three days started on Thursday with a 47-3 victory at home over Itasca Community College. On Friday the team traveled to Northfield to face Saint Olaf and went home with a 28-21 win over the Ole’s. Saturday was the final day and the Yellowjackets split a pair of matches with the schools from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

To start the day the Yellowjackets faced NJCAA powerhouse Iowa Central and came out on top with a 34-18 win. “This is the first time in my career that we have beaten Iowa Central,” said Rochester Coach Randy Rager. “I know that they are a great program and I am very pleased with how the guys wrestled. Our guys were very physical on their feet and the mat. We were also able to push the temp of the match. I think we were in better shape and that really proved to make the difference in the matches.”
