Augustana drops to 17th in final regular season poll

EDMOND, Okla. – Augustana is ranked 17th in the final regular season Division II Wrestling Coaches’ Association poll of the 2012-13 season. Augustana dropped two spots from the previous poll after earning 42 points this week.

Augustana has two individuals ranked in the top eight of their respective weight classes. Nate Herda and Jayd Docken each dropped one spot in this week’s poll as Herda is now ranked fourth at 149 pounds and Docken seventh at 197 pounds.

Herda is 23-4 on the season and has won 12 of his last 13 bouts, including eight straight. Of Herda’s four losses on the season, just one was against a Division II opponent.

Docken is currently 17-4 on the season with five major decisions and three pins. Docken has won seven straight bouts and his last four wins have come by two pins, a major decision and a forfeit.

Augustana is in action at 7 p.m. tonight in its final regular season dual against MSU Moorhead at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls.
