BISMARCK, N.D. – Justin Reinsma dug Southwest Minnesota State out of an early hole with a pin at 133 pounds but the University of Mary reeled off four straight decisions to roll over the Mustangs in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action on Thursday.
The 24-12 dual loss for SMSU (11-6, 1-5 NSIC) is its fourth consecutive dating back to Jan. 25.
Ethan Hildebrandt (141), Beau Buysse (149), Codie Lane (157) and Jacob Begin (165), Travis Peralta (184) and Blaine Miller (197) all fell victim to U-Mary Marauder decisions.
Begin’s loss to Brock Krumm snapped Begin’s 12 match winning streak and was just his second loss of the season.
Jon Gorter finished the bout on a high note for SMSU as Gorter recorded his first career win as a Mustang.
SMSU will continue action tomorrow against Minot State at 7 p.m.
