Augustana’s Docken, Herda named to All-NSIC second team

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana’s Jayd Docken and Nate Herda were named All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference second team, the league office announced Tuesday.

Docken, a sophomore from Winner, S.D., finished the season 23-8 and earned All-America honors with a sixth place finish at the NCAA Championships.

Augustana VikingsHerda, a senior from Rock Rapids, Iowa, finished the season with a record of 28-8 and qualified for nationals for the fourth time in his career this season. This is the fourth All-NSIC honor in Herda’s career as he was a first team member the last three seasons.

The highest place winner from the NSIC at the region tournament is named all-conference first team; the second-highest place winner is named second tea. Additionally, any NSIC wrestler who earns All-America status is named second team.

Augustana went 10-6 on the season, including 5-3 in the NSIC (fourth place) in 2012-13. The Vikings finished 31st at the NCAA Championships and returned with one All-American.
