Mankato, Minn. — The No. 10 Minnesota State wrestling team qualified four wrestlers for the NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championship. The Maverick quartet will wrestle March 8-9 at the CrossPlex Complex in Birmingham, Ala.
Maverick Qualifiers
- 125 lbs: David Demo (Jr., Bozeman, Mont.)
- 133 lbs: Alphonso Vruno (Fr., Sandwich, Ill.)
- 165 lbs: Cody Quinn (So., Covington, Wash.)
- 184 lbs: Aaron Norgren (Sr., Good Thunder, Minn.)
Demo will face Kyle McCrite (Grand Canyon, 16-12) in his first match. Vruno will make his national championship debut against Dylan D’urso (Marcyhurst, 29-4). Quinn will open his championship against Dexter Carter (Ouachita Baptist, 15-20). Norgren will begin his fourth national tournament against Zack Zelcs (Gannon, 11-6).
