Itasca Community College hires new head coach

Itasca Community College is proud to announce the hiring of Dan Lovell as head coach of the Itasca Vikings. Dan was an accomplished wrestler winning an Iowa state title in high school and earning NCAA Division 2 All-American honors at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In 2012, he was a bronze medalist at the Veterans World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. He has extensive coaching experience at the high school and USA wrestling levels. Coach Lovell was the assistant coach at Jamestown College in Jamestown, North Dakota this past season and he has a Masters degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration.

Athletic Director, Justin Lamppa says, “We are very excited to have Coach Lovell join our staff at Itasca Community College. Dan has the knowledge base, experience, and motivation to bring our wrestling program to a place where we consistently compete at the highest level.”
