The South Dakota State wrestling recruiting class for the 2013 season ranked No. 16 by Division 1 College Wrestling.
D1CW released its 2013 Team Recruiting Rankings and SDSU was a top-16 selection.
The highest-ranked Jackrabbit recruit is Nate Rotert (Spearfish, S.D.), who is ranked No. 70 overall and competes at 197 pounds. The class sports two other ranked wrestlers in Colin Holler (No. 91 overall, 165 pounds) and Paul Mascarenas (No. 132 overall, 125 pounds). Matthew Seabold and Brandon Brunner are also listed by D1CW in the recruiting class.
In addition, the Jacks added Chaas Delgado, Hank Goettl, Coltan Laganiere, Kyle Leet, Alex Macki, Austin Oyen, Jake Turk and Kyle White, two with the original class in the fall and six in the spring.
The team also added Alex Kocer, a freshman at SDSU who recently decided to pursue collegiate wrestling.
The incoming class was already touted as the sixth-best recruiting class in the nation by The Open Mat and Amateur Wrestling News.
SDSU is one of two Western Wrestling Conference schools in the D1CW 2013 Team Recruiting Rankings and one of five in the rankings that was not ranked in the previous five seasons.
