Mincey hired as assistant coach at Iowa Lakes Community College

Iowa Lakes Community College has hired former University of Minnesota wrestler Matt Mincey as an assistant coach. Mincey is a 2008 graduate of Apple Valley High School were he won three state championships.

“I am extremely excited to have Matt join our staff,” said Head Wrestling Coach Cody Alesch. “He will bring a wealth of knowledge, hard work and energy to our program and institution as a whole. Matt will be pursuing his Master’s while here for the next three years as well as being our assistant wrestling coach and assisting me in Housing on the Iowa Lakes Campus. Once Matt finishes his Graduate program he will have experienced many different aspects of leadership to help him pursue his career further.”

Iowa Lakes also hired Jahsua Marsh from Brentwood, NY. Jahsua was a 2x NJCAA All-American at Iowa Lakes and 2x NAIA All-American at Midland University and claimed the 197 lb. NAIA National Championship in 2012.

“Our program and institution are very excited to have both Matt and Jahsua join us starting this Fall,” said Alesch. “To bring an alumni back who is thrilled to give back to a place that gave him so much will benefit our students and student athletes. We have some great things going on within our wrestling program and College and these two young men are a big part of that excitement.”
