MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team will face a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponents on the road this week. MSUM will compete at Minnesota State, Mankato on Thursday and conclude the week at No. 10 ranked Upper Iowa on Friday.
Both duals start at 7 p.m.
Senior Matt Lewellen, who is ranked seventh in Super Region 3 at 184 pounds, has a 21-9 mark for MSUM. Fugleberg, who has missed time with injury, is 5-3 and ranked No. 6 in Super Region at 285 pounds. Freshman Blake Bosch is 11-8 at 125 and is ranked No. 6 in the region in that weight class as well.
Freshman Garret Hoffner is 10-6 at 149 pounds while freshman Tyler Schlosser is 11-10 at 197 pounds for the Dragons.
Kris Nelson is in his fifth season as MSUM’s head coach.

The Mavericks are 2-4 overall and 2-0 in the NSIC. They went 0-3 at the NWCA National Duals on Jan. 11 in Des Moines, Iowa, with two losses coming to teams ranked in the top eight in the nation.
Freshman Darick Vancura is 22-7 at 174 pounds for Minnesota State, while sophomore Scott VanDeLoo is 20-11 at 184 Freshman Adam Cooling is 18-5 at 157 pounds for the Mavericks.
Jim Makovsky is in his 21st season as Mankato’s head coach with a record of 237-95-3 at the school.
About Upper Iowa
Upper Iowa is 8-1-1 on the season and has yet to compete in an NSIC match. The Peacocks, who are ranked No. 10 in the latest Division II poll, went 3-1-1 at the National Duals in Des Moines, Iowa. Two of the wins came over No. 19-ranked Lake Erie College, while the tie came against No. 4 Central Oklahoma.
Senior Carl Broghammer, ranked No. 2 in the nation at 197 pounds, is 27-2 on the year, while sophomore Edwin Cooper is 28-2 and ranked No. 5 at 149 pounds. Redshirt freshman Colbey Vance is 27-11 at 174 pounds.
Heath Grimm is in his 14th season as Upper Iowa’s head coach.
