MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State wrestling team is poised to host MSU Moorhead Thursday evening. The Mavericks first home NSIC dual will begin at 7 p.m., in Taylor Center.
MSU has a 2-4 overall record but remains unbeaten in conference play with a 2-0 record. The Dragons are 4-4 with a 1-0 NSIC record. Each team looks to remain unbeaten in league action.
Jeremy Kelly ( Jr., 149 lbs.) is slated in the lineup. Kelly bolsters a 4-4 record, including a 3-4 record during tournament play. His only dual action was a win against Jon Wilson (Minot State) with a decision of 5-4 back on Dec. 20.
After finishing the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals undefeated, Adam Cooling (Fr., 157) now has the best winning percentage (.783) of any MSU wrestler and owns an 18-5 record. Darick Vancura (Fr., 174 lbs.) is second with a .759 winning percentage (22-7) and Scott VanDeLoo (So., 184 lbs.) is third with .645 winning percentage (20-11).
MSU will take an eight-day break before hosting Augustana on the back end of a two-dual homestand. The dual is slated for 7 p.m. in Taylor Center.
