Reinsma named NSIC Wrestler of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Southwest Minnesota State University senior wrestler Justin Reinsma has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Wrestler of the Week. The announcement came from the league office in Burnsville, Minn., on Monday afternoon.

SMSU MustangsReinsma, a native of Slayton, Minn., led Southwest Minnesota State over Minnesota State for the first time since the 1990-91 season as the Mustangs defeated the Mavericks 31-9 on Saturday. Reinsma recorded his fourth pin of the season to give SMSU a 6-3 lead in the dual. Reinsma pinned Tanner Mills in 1:56 and extended his winning streak to nine. The win was Reinsma’s 105th in his career, which ranks fifth most in SMSU all-time history. Reinsma, a two-time NCAA All-American, is 24-9 on the season.

It is the first time in Reinsma’s career that he has been named NSIC Wrestler of the Week. He becomes the second Mustang (Cole Wilson) to earn the honor this season.

Reinsma and the Mustangs (10-4, 4-1 NSIC) will be back in action this weekend with matches versus St. Cloud State on Feb. 6, at 7 p.m., and Northern State at home on Feb. 7, at 7 p.m.
