Dragons add Colorado state runner-up Jonathan Lewis of for 2014-15 Campaign

MOORHEAD, Minn. — Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling coach Kris Nelson has announced that Jonathan Lewis of Windsor, Colo., has signed a letter of acceptance of admission to continue his academic and athletic career at MSUM starting this fall.

MSU-Moorhead DragonsLewis competed at Windsor High School, where he was coached in high school by Monte Trusty, who was a NAIA National Champion at the University of Mary. Monte Trusty’s father, Milo, also helps coach at Windsor and was the long-time head coach at the University of Mary.

“Jon comes from great high school coaching,” Nelson said. “He is a very hard worker who we look forward to coaching him at the 125-pound spot in the next four to five years.”

An athlete who is projected to compete at 125 pounds, Lewis finished with a career record of 118-25. He was a two-time Colorado State Freestyle Runner-up, was a Greco Roman State Champion, and a Greco Roman State Runner-Up. He was fourth in the Colorado state tournament and also was a state-runner up. He was a three-time regional champion.

Lewis joins Nader Abdullatif from Corona, Calif., Paul Cheney of Apple Valley, Minn., Dylan Hutten of Wadena, Minn., Caleb Radley of Thatcher, Ariz.; Jacob Rukavina of Apple Valley, Minn., and Kristian Vasquez of Riverside, Calif., as Dragon recruits for 2014-15.
