Eight newcomers set to bolster MSU wrestling program

MANKATO — Minnesota State University’s Jim Makovsky is not the kind of wrestling coach to boast about his recruiting class, but it’s obvious from his demeanor and tone of voice that he’s pretty happy with who he has coming in this season.

Makovsky capped off his 2014 crop of recruits about two weeks ago when Vito DeGidio of Montana sent in his national letter of intent to attend MSU this fall. The incoming freshman gives the program eight new faces for the 2014-15 season, including two junior college transfers.
