North Dakota State Drops to No. 25 in USA Today/NWCA Top 25

MANHEIM, Pa.–North Dakota State University dropped two spots to No. 25 in the USA Today/NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association) Division I Coaches Poll released Tuesday, Nov. 18. Four NDSU opponents are ranked, including three in the top 10, while another received votes.

North Dakota State (1-2) is scheduled to host Wisconson (1-0) at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.

NDSU BisonFour Bison are listed in the Amateur Wrestling News top 20 individual weight class rankings. Senior Kurtis Julson (5-2) is No. 15 at 174 pounds, senior Evan Knutson (6-1) is No. 15 at 285, sophomore Josh Rodriguez (2-1) is No. 16 at 125, and junior Hayden Zillmer (11-1) is No. 17 at 184.

NDSU was ranked No. 25 in the InterMat.com dual meet rankings released Nov. 18. Individually, Knutson is No. 10 at 285 pounds, Zillmer is No. 13 at 184, Rodriguez is No. 13 at 125, and Julson is No. 14 at 174. Redshirt freshman Mitch Bengtson (10-2) rounds out the group at No. 20 at 141 pounds.

TheOpenMat.com individual rankings have Zillmer listed No. 11 at 184 pounds, Julson is No. 12 at 174, Knutson is No. 13 at 285, Rodriguez is No. 14 at 125, and Bengtson is No. 18 at 141.

North Dakota State is tied for No. 39 in Indiana, Appalachian State and Bucknell in WIN Magazine’s Tournament Power Index released Nov. 17. Individually, Zillmer is No. 17, while Knutson and Rodriguez both come in at No. 20.
