KENOSHA, WIS. – The 17th-ranked Augustana College wrestling team went 4-0 at the Ranger Duals in Kenosha, Wis. with a 28-18 victory over Tiffin, followed by a 30-6 win over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside to close out competition Saturday afternoon. The Vikings opened the Ranger Duals with a 25-9 victory over Findlay, followed by a 26-13 win over Indianapolis Saturday morning. The Vikings improved their season record to 12-4.

No. 1 TJ North started the match out for the Vikings with an 11-2 major decision over Schuyler Phillip. Following by a 133 pound bout where the Oilers Josh Wimer, ranked eighth in NCAA Division II, won by a 10-3 decision.
Senior Jeremiah Peterson, ranked fourth, regained momentum for the Vikings as he won a close decision over Ryan Skonieczny, 16-12. Peterson improves his season record to 8-1.
Wrestling at 149, Indianapolis’s Goebel Nic won a 9-4 decision over Jacob Anderson to put the Oilers back in the match, trailing the Vikings by one point, 7-6. In the 157-lb bout, Shawn Hatlestad worked his way to a 7-3 decision over No. 5 Joey White with all the scoring coming in the second period.
Senior Parker Swanson recorded a pin in 6:25 to seal the win over Nicholas Skonieczny. Indianapolis got back on the board at 174 pounds with Bradley Metz winning a 4-1 decision. The Vikings were still in favor with a 19-9 lead with three bouts remaining.
Augustana took the next three bouts starting at 184 pounds as senior Jeff Nielsen rode Alec Bissel out the entire third period for a 4-0 decision. No. 5 Jayd Docken won a 5-2 decision over Gerald Beck.
The Vikings won the 285 pound finale as Michael Lowman beat Luke Fleming, 4-1. Augustana took the first round victory over the Oilers, 25-9.

The Vikings had won five-of-six bouts to open a 17-3 lead after 165 pounds. No. 1 TJ North opened the dual with an impressive 3-2 victory over No. 8 Joshua Kieffer at 125. Austin Jordan’s takedown in the second period gave him a 4-1 win at 141, and Jacob Anderson recorded five near falls to win a major decision of 17-7 over J.D. Waters at 149 pounds.
At 157, Shawn Hatlestad kept Augustana’s momentum with an easy 13-4 major decision over Barry McGinley. Parker Swanson scored an early takedown that secured a 5-4 decision over Clayton Monebrake at the 165 pound bout. The Vikings pushed ahead 17-3 with three bouts to follow.
The Greyhounds got on the board with a 10-0 major decision at 174. Jeff Nielsen added six points to Augustana’s score with a forfeit at the 184 bout. Brian Wagner pinned Lane Lettau in 4:08, but in the heavyweight bout, Michael Lowman won a 9-2 decision over Brian Snyder to close out the dual 26-13 in favor of the Vikings.

Continuing his momentum from the two duals this morning, TJ North improved to a 3-0 record with a major decision of 13-1 over Giuseppe Penzone to put the Vikings on the scoreboard first, 4-0.
In the 133-pound bout, Morgan Engbrecht pinned Nicholas Pope in 2:41 to push ahead 10-0. Tiffin’s Michael Screptock put the Dragons back in the match with a pin at the 141 pound bout, but Jacob Anderson regained focus for the Vikings winning a 8-4 decision over Jett Hurt.
In the 157-pound match, Shawn Hatlestad took control of the contest early, establishing a 3-1 win over Samphanh Viengmany. At 165 pounds, Parker Swanson won by forfeit allowing Augustana to lead 22-6.
The Dragons took the next two bouts starting with the 174 pound bout where Jared Chambers won an 8-2 decision followed by the 184 pound bout having Christopher Baker winning a decision of 3-2.
Ranked fifth in NCAA Division II, Jayd Docken won by forfeit in the 197 pound division, followed by Garrett Grey of Tiffin winning the heavyweight division to close out the match. The Vikings took six out of the 10 bouts en route to a 28-18 victory over the Dragons.

Augustana closed out the Ranger Duals matching up against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with the Vikings coming into the dual with a 3-0 record on the day.
No. 1 TJ North went 4-0 on the day after recording three takedowns to secure an 8-0 major win over the Rangers Ronzel Darling . In the 133 bout, UW-Parkside’s Joseph Her won by a 5-3 decision to trail the Vikings, 4-3.
No. 4 Jeremiah Peterson pushed Augustana score ahead 7-3 with a 2-0 decision over Adam Yde, followed by Jacob Anderson earning a late takedown in overtime to win by a sudden victory of 3-1 over Aaron Heidersheid. At 157, Shawn Hatlestad pinned Zach Noel in 0:47 seconds to give the Vikings the lead 16-3.
The Ranger’s got back on the scoreboard out of Nick Fishback winning a 5-0 decision at the 165 pound bout, followed by Augustana’s Logan Henning (174 pounds) winning a 5-0 decision over Brett Scoles to push ahead 19-6 with three bouts to follow.
In the 184-pound battle, Jeff Nielsen took control of the bout winning an 11-1 major decision over Mike Romanelli, behind three takedowns. In the next matchup, No. 5 Jayd Docken recorded a takedown in each period to win by a major decision of 12-1 over Jake Armellani.
The meet concluded with the heavyweight bout, where Michael Lowman won 7-0 over Matt Halverson. With wins in eight bouts, the Vikings secured a 30-6 victory over UW-Parkside.
