Gophers Chris Dardanes, Dylan Ness lose in semifinals

ST. LOUIS — Minnesota’s hopes for of advancing a wrestler to the finals of the NCAA wrestling championships came to a painful end Friday night at Scottrade Center.

Oklahoma’s Cody Brewer derailed Chris Dardanes’ bid to finish his senior season unbeaten at 133 pounds, and fellow senior Dylan Ness was forced to default as he attempted to make the finals for a third time.

Ness suffered a dislocated shoulder, according to Gophers coach J Robinson, with a half-minute left in the first period of his semifinal match with Cornell’s Brian Realbuto at 157 pounds. Continue reading at www.twincities.com
