MSU-Moorhead Signs NJCAA All-American Austin Warren

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling coach Kris Nelson has announced that Austin Warren of Newburgh, Ind., has signed a national letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at MSUM starting this fall.

“Austin has had a successful career at the junior-college level and I see him being very competitive in the NSIC and NCAA Division II level at the 184-pound weight class,” Nelson said. “Our coaching staff is very happy to add Austin to our program and we look forward to working with him the next two years.”

MSU-Moorhead DragonsWarren spent last season at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kan., where he earned NJCAA All-American honors at 184 pounds after finishing fifth at the national meet. Prior to that Warren wrestled at Rend Lake College where he was a national qualifier at 184 pounds.

During his high school career at Castle High School, Warren posted a record of 77-12 and was a state qualifier. He was the team’s MVP as a senior.

Warren is the 12th member of the 2015-16 MSUM wrestling recruiting class.
