Dragon Wrestlers 5th in NSIC Preseason Rankings

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team is ranked fifth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference preseason ranking released on Wednesday.

The Dragons had 20 points in the rankings, which were determined by a point system using the top five individuals in each weight class. Defending champion St. Cloud State is the preseason favorite with 76 points. All points were figured from the top five individuals in each weight class. The following point system was used: first = 10, second = 7, 5hird = 4, fourth = 2 and fifth = 1.

MSU-Moorhead DragonsThe Dragons have five wrestlers ranked in the NSIC in the top five of their weight classes. Dragon junior Blake Bosch, an All-American last season, is the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the NSIC at 133 pounds.

Junior Garret Hoffner is third at 157, while juniors Shane Novak (125), Isaac Novacek (149) and Austin Warren are each ranked fourth at their respective weight classes.

MSUM’s first full-team tournament of the season will be at the Bison Open on Nov. 14 in Fargo, N.D.
