SCSU maintains #2 national ranking in latest DII poll

NEWBERRY, S.C. – St. Cloud State University (5-1, 0-0 NSIC) maintained its number two ranking in the latest edition of the 2015-16 Division II Wrestling Coaches’ Association Poll after taking second place at the 2016 NWCA National Duals.

The Huskies stayed in second place in the poll, while Notre Dame of Ohio moved into the poll’s top position and previous number one Maryville University dropped down to third place in the poll.

SCSU HuskiesSt. Cloud State’s Tim Prescott stayed at the number one spot in the 125-pound division while teammate Jay Hildreth moved up to #6 in the 149-pound division of the NCAA DII individual polls. SCSU’s Clint Poster continued to maintain the top spot this season in the 165-pound division and Clayton Jennissen made his national poll debut with a fourth place ranking at 174-pounds this week.

SCSU’s nationally ranked group was completed by Austin Goergen, who gained the number one ranking at 285-pounds.

The Huskies will continue their 2015-16 campaign with a trip to the Ranger Duals in Kenosha, Wisc. on Jan. 16. SCSU is scheduled to compete against McKendree, Indianapolis and UW-Parkside at the tournament.
