University of Minnesota Coaches Corner – February 25, 2016

In his latest update from the Coach’s Corner, Head Assistant Coach Brandon Eggum looks back on last Friday’s 30-10 win over No. 14 Iowa State and offers a sneak peek into the Gopher lineup for the upcoming Big Ten Championships.

Minnesota GophersEggum recaps the seven match wins for the Gophers over the Cyclones, touching on the three decisions and the four bonus point wins that fueled the 20-point victory. Back-to-back falls by Jake Short and Brandon Kingsley gave the Gophers firm control over the scoreboard midway through the dual, and a major decision and a tech fall from Brett Pfarr and Michael Kroells, respectively, put an exclamation point on the evening.

Fast-forwarding to March 5 and 6 in Iowa City, Eggum also provides details on who Gopher fans can expect to see in the Maroon singlets at 125 and 133 pounds, two weights that have seen competition for the starting spot throughout the past several weeks.
