Yellowjackets Win MCAC Championship Crowning 6 Individual Champions

The Rochester Community and Technical College Yellowjackets competed in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Championship this past Saturday in Willmar, MN.

The Yellowjackets took championship honors in six of the ten weights. 2016 MCAC Champions include Zach Scott (141 – Holdingford, MN), Brett Bradford (157 – Byron, MN), Connor Hanson (165 – Harmony, MN), Dustin Lee (184 – Oregon, WI), Ryan Jones (197 – St. Michael, MN), and Chase Nottestad (Hwt – Westby, WI). This is the fourth consecutive MCAC Tournament Championship for RCTC.

Connor Hanson was also unanimously voted by the coaches as the MCAC Wrestler of the Year. Hanson is currently 28-10 and plans on continuing his wrestling career next season, but is still undecided on his transfer plans.

MCAC Tournament Results

The Yellowjackets will travel back to Willmar on Thursday, January 4th to wrestle Ridgewater and determine the MCAC Dual Team Champions. The Jackets are currently undefeated in the MCAC.
