Pfarr enters national championships with high confidence

Le Sueur-Henderson graduate Brett Pfarr is having himself quite the season on the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers wrestling team. At 31-2, Pfarr has earned the No. 3 national ranking at Division I 197 pounds.

“I’ve had a pretty good season,” Pfarr said. “Just another year of maturity. Getting strong, better technique. I’ve been having a lot of fun. I’m not too worried about the outcome, just going out and having fun.”

Pfarr’s losses this season came to the two wrestlers ranked ahead of him in Morgan McIntosh, of Penn State, and J’den Cox, of Missouri. He enters the Big Ten Championships March 4-6 as one of the favorites, but there’s no clear path with No. 1-ranked McIntosh and No. 4-ranked Nathan Burak, of Iowa, standing in the way.
