SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana University head wrestling coach Jason Reitmeier has announced the signing of Hunter Haman to a letter of intent to continue his academic and wrestling career at Augustana.
Haman is the 13th member of the 2016-17 Augustana wrestling signing class.
A native of Douglas, Wyoming, Haman is a 2014-15 graduate of Douglas High School where he was a four-year letterwinner and starter for the Bearcats wrestling team. Haman was a two-time state champion for Douglas winning titles as a sophomore and junior before placing second at the state tournament as a senior. He is a three-time All-State selection who compiled a 102-10 his final two seasons. Haman recorded 30-plus pins in back-to-back seasons as a junior and senior.
“We are excited to add Hunter to the Augustana wrestling program,” Reitmeier said. “He was very successful at Douglas High School and is extremely scrappy on his feet and strong on the mat. Hunter has excelled on the mat and in the classroom. We are excited to get him on the mat and working out with our team.”
Augustana finished the 2015-16 season with a record of 18-6, including 5-3 in NSIC matches which was good for a fourth-place finish in the final standings.
Located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Augustana University is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
