MACON, France — South Dakota State University wrestler Seth Gross will take to the mat in international competition Saturday, competing for the U.S. Men’s Freestyle Team at the UWW Junior World Championships.
Gross, who is one of eight members of the freestyle team made up of 17- to 20-year-olds, is expected to compete in the 60-kilogram (132-pound) division. Preliminary rounds begin at 10 a.m. local time in France (3 a.m. Central Time), with the finals at 11 a.m. Central that same day.
During his first season with the Jackrabbits, Gross compiled a 26-14 overall record while competing at 141 pounds. He was the runner-up at the Big 12 Conference Championship and was one of five SDSU wrestlers to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Gross spent last week training with the team in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before arriving in France earlier this week.

Gross’s former Apple Valley teammate Mark Hall also competes on Saturday.
