Alex Lloyd of Shakopee announced on Twitter a verbal commitment to attend South Dakota State and wrestle for the Jackrabbits following his high school career. Lloyd is currently a junior at Shakopee High School.

Lloyd is a three-time state place winner. He won the Class AAA 145-pound title in 2006 as a sophomore. He placed third at 120 pounds as an eighth-grader and fifth at 106 pounds as a seventh-grader.
Lloyd is projected to wrestle at 149 or 157 pounds for the Jackrabbits.
