Senior Brent Jones continues to make history with the Shakopee wrestling team.
Jones has accomplished a lot of firsts in the past four years for the Shakopee wrestling program.
Jones became the first Shakopee wrestler to capture a state title when he won the 106-pound Class 3A championship in 2014. (Later that night, teammate Owen Webster won the 152-pound title.) Jones followed that up by winning two more state titles, in 2015 and 2016, becoming Shakopee’s first two- and three-time state champion.
This season Jones will try to become Shakopee’s first four-time state champion. In the history of state tournament wrestling, there have been 16 four-time state champs, five five-time state champs and one six-time state champion. Continue reading at www.swnewsmedia.com
