Corrected story, Indiana won opener 18-17 on tie-breaker criteria, overall match points
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — North Dakota State University 165-pounder Andrew Fogarty and 184-pound Tyler McNutt both recorded pins as NDSU defeated host Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 25-13 on Sunday, Dec. 4. The Bison lost 18-17 to Indiana University on tie-breaker criteria in the first match
North Dakota State is now 3-2 overall. The Bison will face the University of Maryland and George Mason University on Friday, Dec. 9, in Fairfax, Va.

Rodriguez, a senior from Guadalupe, Calif. (Righetti H.S.), recorded his team-leading tech fall 26-10 against Indiana’s Liam Cronin at 6:11. That win put the Bison ahead 14-10.
In making his first dual start of the season, NDSU’s 149 Kyle Gliva posted a 5-2 decision over Chris Perez to tie the match at 17-all sending things to the tie-breaker criteria.
North Dakota State opened the dual with wins from 12th-ranked Clay Ream at 157 pounds and 19th-ranked Fogarty at 165. Ream won 8-1 over Jake Danishek, while Fogarty edged Bryce Martin 2-0.
Indiana reeled off three straight wins before NDSU 285-pounder Ben Tynan stopped the run with a 6-0 win over Fletcher Miller.
North Dakota State came out strong against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville with Ream rolling to a 13-4 major decision over Karsten Van Velsor. Ream improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in duals. Fogarty notched his third pin of the season at 3:59 over SIUE’s Sammuel Zimmerman. Fogarty is now 7-1 overall and 4-1 in duals.
NDSU 184-pound junior Tyler McNutt put the Bison ahead 16-3 with his third pin of the season over Jake Godinez at 2:31. McNutt improved to 5-3 overall, 2-3 in duals.
Tynan used a takedown late in the third period to defeat SIUE’s Jake McKiernan 3-1. Tynan put his record at 7-1 overall, 4-1 in duals
In a battle of nationally-ranked Rodriguez’, North Dakota State’s 5th-ranked Josh Rodriguez turned back 11th-ranked Freddie Rodriguez 14-8. Josh Rodriguez improved to 8-0 overall, 5-0 in duals.
Gliva came back to outlast SIUE’s Tyshawn Williams 6-4 in an exhausting tie-breaker 1 overtime decision. Gliva ran his record to 9-0 overall and 2-0 in duals.
