WORTHINGTON — Now in his second year as a collegiate wrestler at Minnesota West Community and Technical College, 2016 All-America Minnesota West 141-pounder Lamont Cannon is still driven by a controversial runner-up performance at the state tournament in his senior year of high school in Highland Park, Mich.
“It made me want to be a champion,” said Cannon, who finished seventh at the national tournament as a college freshman in 2016. “To not be satisfied with second place. That pushes me a lot.”
He’ll have the opportunity to fulfill that goal this weekend as he competes at the NJCAA National Wrestling Championship in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Friday and Saturday. Continue reading at www.dglobe.com
