Dragons End Regular Season at Minot State

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team will travel to Minot, N.D. for the final dual of the regular season on Thursday night to face the Minot State Beavers. The dual will begin at 7 p.m.

The Dragons enter the dual with a 5-9 dual record, and a 2-5 conference mark. They are coming off a weekend that saw a loss to Augustana (32-9) on Friday, before rebounding and beating Southwest Minnesota State 23-13. Senior Blake Bosch went 2-0 on the weekend, as did sophomore Kristian Vazquez, who is now 11-8 on the year at 141.

moorlogo The Dragons are led by Bosch, who has a 25-1 record, and is ranked No. 2 in the nation. Senior Nader Abdullatif has a 17-9 record, while sophomore Adam Blees enters the dual with a 14-9 season record. Senior Isaac Novacek enters the dual with a 15-12 record at 157.

Bosch is ranked No. 1 in the region at 133 pounds, while Vazquez is ranked No. 6 at 141 pounds. Blees has a ranking of third at 174 pounds, while Abdullatif is ranked eighth in the region at 285 pounds.

Head coach Kris Nelson is in his eighth season as head coach of the Dragons.

About the Beavers
Minot State enters the dual with a 4-14 overall record, and a 0-6 conference record. They are coming off a 22-19 nonconference win over Dickinson State University.

The Beavers are led by Cody Haugen, who has a 15-14 season record. Jered Sublet enters with a 14-12 record, while Carlos Toledano has a 13-5 record. Head coach Evan Forde, a 2011 graduate of MSUM, is in his second season as Minot State’s head coach.
