RCTC hopes to be in running for national title

Rochester Community and Technical College has the numbers to be in the running to win a national wrestling title at the NJCAA National Championships.

RCTC has nine qualifying wrestlers, out of 10 weight classes, for the junior college championship wrestling meet. The event is being held in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Friday and Saturday. There is one overall meet composed of scholarship and non-scholarship schools, but there will be a national title awarded in each division.

“We’ve been working hard, and the guys are ready to go,” RCTC coach Randy Rager said.

About 40 teams will be represented at the meet, about 20 in both the scholarship and non-scholarship divisions. Continue reading at www.postbulletin.com
