The Mustangs dropped the first bout of the night but were helped out by a forfeit from Concordia College at 133. Zach Beaumaster and Cortez Arredondo won back to back bouts for SMSU as it raced out to a 12-3 advantage.
Following a 7-1 decision for Concordia College, SMSU came back with a 13-3 major decision from Jake Slocum at 165.
